Reducing and protecting the environment has reach to an alarming level in todays time. The individual group of people claims that recycling is only strategy for reducing waste and environment protection. This essay will discuss why i believe that along with recycling there are other important strategies to combat environmental issues.
To begin with, meaning and importance of recycling which means to reuse the material in such efficient manner that reprocess material into new product. Therefore, the lifecycle of product is extended. For instance, according to the data of Environmental Protection Agency recycling one ton of paper can save 17 trees and 7000 gallons of water. Although recycling not only addresses the climate issues , but it also save two major concern water wastage and deforestation.
However, recycling has an adverse impact as it consumes lot of energy and natural gas which leads to carbon emissions . Even though recycling, there are some strategies to curb issues. For example, opting for non-biodegradable products instead of biodegradable ones. Government should take strict action against industries by applying green taxes which can reduce carbon gases and harmful toxicants . along with government people should also be educated about the importance of not consuming excessive energy and promoting e-vehicles.
In conclusion, while recycling is not the soul solution to save climate but it is effective if one is using in responsible manner . Additionally there are numerous strategies to combat the environmental deteoriation.
