The chart presents the number of students learning different subjects at a university in the United States in 2010.
Overall, Finance and Accounting were the two fields that captivated the highest number of students, whilst the Engineering subject was the opposite. Additionally, Mathematics and Economics witnessed a notable difference in the number of male and female students.
Regarding subjects that had the highest number of students studying, there were about 230 students of both genders opting to study Finance, which was more than about 30 female students and over 50 male students studying Accounting. As for Mathematics, while this area had about 200 male students studying, only over 50 students were women.
The three remaining fields were Marketing, Economics, and Engineering. Out of these subjects, Engineering was the subject that had the lowest total number of students, with over 50 female students, and the number of male students was slightly higher than that of female students. In terms of Marketing, this subject had more female students than male students, with roughly 120 students and over 70 students, respectively. By contrast, although only over 50 female students learned Economics, the figure for male learners learning this subject was twofold.
