The chart illustrates how families from low, middle, and high-income groups spent their money on different categories.
Overall, all three categories households spent more on housing, while low-income households spent more on basic needs, while high-income households spent more on non-essential and savings.
To begin with, housing was the biggest spending for all categories households income, at around 30%, while transport spending, ranked second, with the figure at above 15% for all categories. As for eating out, all categories spent below 5%, while eating food at home was high in low-income households, at over 10%.
Furthermore, transport spending was high in low and medium incomes, at over 15%, while retirenment savings was high in high-incomes, at over 15%. Additionally, entertainment, clothing, education were similar in all groups, between 3% and 7%. In constrast, as for health expenditure, low-income households spent more than other level incomes, at around 8%, while both medium and high-incomes households, each at 5%, respectively.
