The two maps illustrate the layout of a musuem’s ground floor in 1990 and after refurbishment in 2010.
Overall, it is clearly noticeable that all parts of the ground floor changed over 20 years except musuem office and natural history room.
Entrance door has became larger while the reception counter has moved and rotated to face the entrance. The gift shop was expanded to have a cafe alongside. Furthermore, the statue in the front of the gift shop was moved into the center of the area. Additionally, a lift was constructed between gift shop and natural history room.
The only part that redeveloped entirely was archaeology gallery that was splitted into two differend stalls , a children’s interactive zone and poster display area. The local history room remained at the same location in the right bottom corner with door and wall removed.
