When children begin attending school, teachers have a greater impact on their intellectual and social growth than their parents. I completely agree with this view as teachers are who make children learn and provide an environment.
The first reason why I believe that teachers have more influence than parents once children start school is because they make children learn. Teachers are highly qualified and transmit knowledge across various subjects. Engaging with these subjects involves students doing assignments, exams, and projects that show and enhance their intellectual skills. Teachers acting as mentors, guide students through these tasks and work to ensure improvement in their performance. Children spend lots of effective time with teachers whereas parents do not have much time to support their children’s intellectual skills.
Furthermore, teachers create an environment for children to increase their social skills. Teachers guide students through co-curricular activities and interactive learning, which are crucial for this growth. For example, teachers organize engaging group projects that help children develop essential social skills such as communication, teamwork, and leadership.
Teachers also provide support in extra-curricular activities such as sports, art programs, and debate which provide additional value for social interaction and personal growth. Through these activities, students learn to work with peers. This kind of social interaction and teamwork is challenging for parents to provide at home.
In conclusion, I firmly agree that teachers have a significant impact on children than their parents because teachers teach the children and teachers can provide an environment that helps to develop intellectual and social skills.
