It is clear that, there was a dramatic decrease in the amount of time spent to manufacture car in General Motor, Ford, Toyota and Honda factories. While, the figure for time to produce a car in Ford decreased significantly.
In 1998, the figure for time spent to produce per vehicle in General Motor was 32 hour while that of Ford was 28 hour. The amount of time spent in Ford peaked at 31 hours in 2001 and after which it fell gradually to 21 hours in 2005. Whereas the figure for time spent in General Motor decreased gradually and reached 22 hours in 2005.
The amount of time to produce a vehicle in Toyota and Honda was 22 hours in 1998 after which they fluctuated and reaceh 20 hours in 2005.
