Starting at 22% in 1988, the separation of water for bathroom experienced a further improvement in 2008, reaching 25%. Moreover, by 1988, the consumption of water for kitchen had accounted for 15%, after which it had skyrocketed to 29% in 2008.
On the other hand, this figure for washing clothes, gardening and toilets bucked the trend. In 1988, the percentage of water usage for washing clothes exhibited 25%, and this was followed by a noticeable dip, reaching 22%. Around 18% of water used for toilet in 1988, compared to 7% of gardening. However, in the following year, both household activities witnessed a marginal drop to 14% and 7% respectively.
