The bar chart illustrates and compares the monthly precipitation through March to September across five Chinese cities.
Overall, the five cities all experience an increase in the precipitation from March to June, and a fall in the following three months. Comparing to other four cities, Guangzhou more or less enjoy the highest precipitation from March to September, and Urumqi enjoy the least rainfall in the same period.
It is clear from chart that rainfall in Beijing increases dramatically from March to June, rising from roughly 10 mm to almost 80mm. A even more drastic rise is seen in the same period in Chengdu, from approximately 25 mm to 150mm. However, from June September the trend is reversed: dropping from 80mm to 50mm in Beijing, and 150mm to roughly 120mm in Chengdu. A similar yet a much more mild trend is seen in the rainfall in Urumqi. In March, rainfall in the city is slightly above 10 mm, then, in June, it increases to almost 25mm, and subsequently falls to roughly 15mm in September.
However, rainfall in much more abundant in both Shanghai and Guanghzou. In March, Shanghai tops the chart with a slightly over-a-hundred precipitation. In the same month, rainfall in Guangzhou is roughly 90mm. However, in both June and September, rainfall in Guangzhou ranks the first, with roughly 270 mm in June and 170mm in September. Shanghai’s rainfall in June comes roughly to 170mm, and drops to 100 mm in September.
