The layouts illustrate how the look of the ground floor of a museum changed in 2010 compared to 1990. Overall, while some particular areas remained unchanged until 2010, most of the amenities of this museum’s floor have been upgraded as well as replaced by some integration in some service areas to bring more convenience for clients in 2010.
While the local history room has not experienced any different changes, several service areas have been altered on the right half side of the museum’s floor. There was an archaeology gallery in 1990 on the top right-hand corner of the floor, but in 2010, it was replaced by the children’s interactive zone and the poster display area. In more detail, removal of glass and walls of each area of the right half side of the floor in 2010 could create an open space for clients, offering a comfortable experience.
The entrance has been noticeably changed, becoming much wider than in 1990. On the left side of the floor, major updates have taken place. The reception desk, originally located in front of the museum office, has been moved to the bottom left corner near the exit. Although the natural history room next to the museum office remains the same, an elevator has been added nearby, making it easier for visitors to reach the upper floors. Finally, the gift shop, previously in the top left corner, has been combined with a café, improving both space and the visitor experience.
