In 1981, butter consumption was 140 grams before it reached its peak at 160 grams. Then it is evident and notable that the butter usage fell significantly year by year and reached its lowest use of 50 grams in 2007 . Consuming margarine in the first year was 90 grams and fluctuated till 2001 with 80, 100 and 80grams per year, but afterwards, it had a slight decrease at 40 grams in the last year.
However, low-fat & reduced spreads were the only ones faced a sharp growth from 10 grams in 1996 to over 80 grams at its peak in 2001, respectively. Then, in 2007, its use declined a little with 10 grams.
To sum up, butter and margarine spread consumption had reduced considerably, while low-fat & reduced spreads usage had encountered an incredibly sharp rise in their utilization in grams.
