In recent years, an increasing number of individuals prefer to seek medical advices and suggestions from “alternative doctors” instead of the usual one. Althrough some aruge that medications from hospital or usual doctor are not alway effective, along with expensive payment; in contrast, some alternative medicines immediately take effects, I firmly believe that this is a positive development for patients as long as the supervision of it is well-established.
On the one hand, from the perspective of patients, they are desperate to get cured effectively and immediately; It is not bizarre to take up them if there is something that is capable to quickly satisfy their demands. As for my personal experience, I had acne vulgaris for 3 years, which hospital doctors cannot tackle this after a lasting 1-year treatment. Before feeling frustrating, I had visited an alternative medicine–traditional Chinese medicine; I had received an elaborate herb-based healing and then the disease have been significantly mitigated.
On the other hand, it is undeniable that there are numerous medical risks on these “untraditional treatments” without any medical supervision. According to reports from the United States, over 1 million citizens have been suffering from all manners of medicine-related fruads. Surprisingly, those victims admitted that the loss of money can be considerated a best result, bacause a great number of examples, which patients have suffered from aggravating deseases, have existed over decades. Consequently, to prevent these tragedies happened, meanwhile, enabling patients to enjoy benefits and convenience brought from formal alternatives, setting up an appropriate and well-equipped regulation system is inevitable.
In conclusion, provided that authorities enact and strictly carry out these practices, I still contend that the development of diversity in the medicine field should not be viewed as detrimental even after witnessing many medical malpractices.
