The pie charts illustrates the changes in people’s expenditure on media (Radio, newspapers, social media, televsion, online streaming) programmes per day from 2010 to 2020.
Overall, spending time on watching television programmes made up th highest portion, while time spent in newspapers constitutes the lowest percentage of the total changes in media consumption. On balance, the expenditure in radio, television, and newspapers decreased. Conversely, time in social media and online steaming increased.
To begin with the reductions, radio programmes started from a quarter and reduced to 10% between 2010 and 2020. People spent their time in watching TV started from a peak with 40% and declined to 25%. Newspapers began to fall from 15% and stopped at 5% which is perceived to be the lowest figure.
Regarding the increases, social media rose climb from 10% to a third from 2010 to 2020. Online streaming experienced the same trend with growing between 10% and 30%. Both increases became the most popular expenditutre among people.
