Vacation pattern in the education system is now a matter of priority among authorities. Nowadays, there is an ongoing debate about the duration of school vacation among several people, opining that a long vacation would be beneficial for children, where as other believe that short multiple vacations would work effectively. Generally, people choose a long vacation for upgrading their skills, whereas others prioritize short but multiple vacation to increase their efficiency and focus on study, which I prefer as well.
On the one hand, people choose one long vacation considering the fact that it would help children to do some short courses that would add some skills to their skill list. During a long vacation, they can do part-time jobs, and courses like an English speaking course, would enhance their skills as well as open doors for them, leading to opportunities. For example, in Australia, during a long summer vacation, school students do some hospitality jobs, work in retail shops, that enhance their skill for communications and help them to be capable of working in a fast-paced environment. So, a long vacation is really beneficial if it is used properly.
On the other hand, short but multiple vacations improve the focus of students. After a stressful and hard lesson, if students get a short vacation, it would help them to process that harder lesson, as well as it would wipe out stress and recharge students to the fullest for the next lessons, improving their focus and energy. As a result, students could get an excellent academic result as well as could do a great mastery on topis of the syllabus without being overloaded with stress. In Finland, students get such short multiple vacations, the effect of which reflects on their academic results, and it boosts their eagerness to learn new things as well as complicated lessons happily. Thus, we can say that short vacations are like a cup of coffee for refreshment after a hectic period of studying.
In my opinion, a short vacation offers a superior experience to a long vacation.
