The bar graph presents participation of individuals in a variety of sports within a particular location from 1997 to 2017.
In general, the overall participations in sports increase during 1997 and 2017. Tennis has remained the most popular sporting activities in both years with highest number of people joining, whereas football and rubgy experienced a significant increase in popularity in 2017. Despite the rising trend in general, the number of individuals doing cricket actually declined.
Based on the number of participation, the amount of people doing tennis rose from 50,000 in 1997 and approximately 55,000 individuals in 2017, respectively. As for the rest of the sport activities, despite its significant increase in the count of people joining, from just over 30,000 to a little below 50,000, football and rugby are second in popularity after tennis.
The participation in swimming and golf, on the other hand, had been stable in both years, with around 35,000 and a bit over 30,000 individuals doing the sport respectively. In the contrary, there were less individuals who played cricket compared to 1997, which is around 25,000 to approximately 7,000.
