I disagree with the idea that it is best to travel in a group led by a tour guide. Although guided tours can be convenient, independent travel offers more freedom, flexibility, and personal experiences.
First, traveling without a tour guide allows people to make their own schedules. In a guided group, tourists usually have to follow strict timetables and cannot stay longer in places they enjoy. For example, if someone becomes interested in a historical site or wants to spend more time shopping, they may not have enough time because the group must move together. Independent travelers can change their plans whenever they want, which makes the trip more relaxing and enjoyable.
Second, traveling alone or with friends can help people experience local culture more deeply. Tour groups often visit only famous tourist spots, while independent travelers can explore local restaurants, neighborhoods, and events. By communicating with local people, travelers can learn about different customs and lifestyles in a more meaningful way. These experiences often create stronger memories than simply following a guide.
Finally, guided tours can sometimes be expensive and less exciting because travelers have little freedom. Some people may feel stressed when they must stay with a large group all day. In contrast, planning a trip independently can be more adventurous and enjoyable.
For these reasons, I believe traveling independently is better than traveling in a group led by a tour guide because it gives people more freedom, richer cultural experiences, and greater satisfaction.
