As the world around us has revolutionized significantly, so has shopping. Some individuals believe that up-to-date technology has made buying things much easier, while others hold a contrasting view. I agree that online shopping has its merits, but the advantages of in-person purchases may outweigh them.
On the one hand, online shopping can be beneficial to shoppers. Firstly, it is obvious that thanks to technology, we can buy the products we desire while we are at home and enjoy the comforts of our home. However, traditional shopping requires us to leave our house, and then we may suffer from traffic congestion during rush hours. Sometimes, we encounter difficulties finding a parking place, leading to a waste of our time and affecting our health. Secondly, with the development of technology, shoppers find it easy to pay shops or companies through their bank accounts or credit cards. For example, many people prefer not to carry a lot of cash while shopping due to the risk of theft. Therefore, online payments are advantageous for shopping.
On the other hand, despite some advantages mentioned above, I also share the concerns of those who think that there are some drawbacks to shopping through technology. One main disadvantage is the risk of personal data exposure to hackers. If personal data is exposed to malicious individuals, owners could lose money from their bank accounts or important personal information. Another drawback is that while there are more options to buy goods online, we may not have the opportunity to try on goods such as clothes or shoes. Consequently, many times we receive product deliveries that do not meet our expectations.
In conclusion, although technology facilitates our shopping with convenience, it seems to me that the drawbacks outweigh the advantages.
