The line graph illustrates the amount of money spent in millions by the tourists in UK and the pie chart depicts their motives in visiting this country for over a thirty-year period. Overall, the total amount of money spent by foreigners fluctuated over the period. Furthermore, history remained to be the top reason of tourists in visiting the UK in 1980 and 2010, while others reason is the lowest percentage gathered throughout.
Regarding the amount of money wasted by the tourists in travelling, it started at over 7,500 million, then it gradually fell at 7,000 million, until it reached its highest point at 12,000 million in 1996, before it decline siginificantly at 10,000 million in 2003. From 2003 onwards, it rose marginally by 10 million and ended at around 10,500 million.
In terms of the reasons for visit of foreigners, history remained to be the top motive why they decided to travel in the UK at 44.1% and 39.1% in 1980 and 2010, respectively. While other reasons, consitently remained to be the least at 16.6% and 9.8% in 1980 and 2010, respectively. Additionally, they spent at around 8,000 million and 10,500 million in this period in 1980 and 2010.
