I think development is very essential for the progress of a country. Development can be in sectors like housing, education, healthcare, etc. Today I would like to talk about a recent development in my country related to the transportation sector. Last year, our Honourable Prime Minister inaugurated the first metro rail in the National Capital, Dhaka. The launch was covered by all the TV channels and the leading newspapers. That is how I came to know about it. It benefited millions of people by significantly reducing travel time and contributed to mitigating traffic jams in the city center and pollution caused by public vehicles. It has multiple coaches, and one of them is reserved for women. It makes us more confident while traveling alone. I had a desire to travel by this train since I heard about it. A few days ago, I traveled from Mirpur to Thira, which took approximately 15 minutes. If I had traveled by public transportation like a bus, it would have taken almost one hour or more. So, it is efficient and affordable at the same time.
