Off top of my head comes my biggest dream, which is to write a book. In fact, I’ve been writing since I was 8, which cultivated in me a deep desire of self-expression and even deeper love for literature. Throughout secondary school and high school, I’ve set this goal in mind that I should complete my first manuscript by the age of 25, which hasn’t happened yet, although I’m on the way of doing it. During that time I was trying to write on daily basis. I was setting reminders, was counting my words, editing, trying to challenge myself by writing in different genres, different stories, some poetry here and there. Furthermore, in high school I was surrounded with fellow book lovers and fellow writers who continued encouraging me, evaluating my art, and providing me with useful critique and information. However, writing and completing a book turned out to be a lengthy and rather emotional process. And when I graduated high school, even during the last couple of years in high school, a lot of mental issues started hindering my writing process as they instilled in me a severe feeling of anxiety. The anxiety on its own made me a subject of a lot of self-doubt and worry, which made me unable to continue writing without viewing my art as obscure and unprofessional and undeserving of publishing. So following the next couple of years in university where my newly adulthood life made me with many new responsibilities that would restrain me from focusing on my goal. I started writing again in the last couple of years and right now I’m trying to implement my dedication that I had in high school. I’m attempting to writing daily. I set reminders. I communicate my ideas with my friends and I try to be more patient to not allow my own and feelings to overwhelm me.
