I want to talk about a street building in my country. It’s called Maiden Tower because it’s kind of look like a gull. I mean a buta. Buta is a symbol of our culture and it reminds us of a gull who is a virgin. It’s located on the Icharishehr. More precisely it’s the center of the Baku in Azerbaijan. The capital city of Baku. It’s really close to my university. There’s a 4 or 5 minutes walking distance from there and my university. I went there about 2 months ago with my friends. It really looks amazing because it’s very ancient. It was built on about 11th century I guess. They used it back then for defense purposes and also some religious purposes such as they do some sacrificing there on Ayat because the people who lived there were Muslim. But they don’t use it for defense or religious purposes for today. It’s only for a tourist attraction or it’s also a museum and some tourists would go there and see it. I went there with my friends about 2 months ago. We went into the big building. There was a guide. He told us everything about it. He built it and how it’s built back then and how they did it. There’s a lot of information, pictures and tables on the walls inside of the building. We went to the top of the tower. It was really amazing because you can see the whole Baku from there. You can see the flame towers and the new building. It’s called Crescent Mall. It’s a really good building. If you have sharp eyes you can also see a little bit of Caucasian mountains. I never had experience in my life. It was a unforgettable experience for me. I recommend everyone to go there at least one time in their life.
