The reason I became interested in the job was when I was studying a course that was centered around semiconductor physics. I always thought I was probably going to work with signals and signal processing until I came upon that course and I just fell in love. I just fell in love with the idea of exploring how different types of semiconductors like gallium nitride, like silicon work and how you can make a lot of interesting devices with it and how you can use different types of architectural designs on a system level in order to make chips and chip led that are not only energy efficient but also extremely fast. Meaning you can produce high quality products, high quality computers for the consumers. I think the idea of producing such groundbreaking novel inventions that could make the life of people easier is something that attracted me. And the fact that I can do it by exploring physics is an idea I genuinely love. So most people in this field, as I’ve stated before, need to be able to understand physics of semiconductor devices and know what sort of parameters they have to optimize every day in order to make proper designs that can be translated to actual hardware architecture. So basically your day is spent trying different sorts of designs, different types of parameters. It’s a long iterative process where you have to be very much conscious of the physics you’re working with as well as the constraints that are involved such as energy constraint or speed constraint. And in order to do this sort of work, you definitely need to have a bachelor’s with a very high CGPA and preferably a master’s or a PhD degree. I personally think I can get this job because I think I’m extremely interested in the subject but also very much motivated to do so. I think my strong research background as well as my potential in academics will make it easier for me to get this job in the future once I’m done with my PhD.
