Last week, the members of the House of Representatives and the lawmakers passed a law regarding capital punishment. Capital punishment was not previously common in our country. Criminals who committed heinous crimes like murder and rape were only imprisoned for a certain number of years before being released. This often led to them committing more crimes upon their release. There was even a case in our local area where a person named Salman was released from jail for a crime. Just a week later, he murdered someone. The lack of capital punishment contributed to an increase in unforgivable crimes. However, after the introduction of this law, crime rates have gone down. Criminals are now more afraid of the consequences, knowing they could face the death penalty, either by hanging or other means. This law has helped to limit the number of crimes and ensure better governance. I felt a sense of relief for the innocent people who were suffering from the impulsive acts of criminals. I also felt a sense of respect for the lawmakers of the country for taking this important step.
