One of my favorite memories was when I went to Sigishuara in Romania with a few of my friends. Sigishuara is kind of a historical city. It’s all basically built around an old fortress and there’s also the cemetery of fallen war victims. I went with a few people that I was friends with at the time. We’re not really in contact anymore but at that time we were very, very close. People I went to high school with. We just spent the whole day essentially walking around the fortress, kind of taking in the history of the city as well as taking a walk through that cemetery and reading the gravestones of the people and that’s how we kind of found out who they were, what they did and how they ended up essentially being dead and buried in this specific cemetery. To me I remember it very fondly because it came at a time in my life where I was going through a lot and probably having that walk through the cemetery made me realize how important and valuable life is and made me kind of rethink being grateful that I am alive and made me want to live more in the moment rather than inside my head.
