The only person that comes to my mind is Tom Daly. He is one of the most decorated Olympians from the UK who loves knitting. I first learned about his interest in knitting way back in 2021 when he competed in the Tokyo Olympics. The media spotted him knitting a cardigan on the poolside while watching his fellow diving competitors. The finished cardigan was posted on his Instagram, and I can say that it was beautifully crafted. The cardigan has the UK flag on the left shoulder and the letters GBR on the right. On the back, it features the logo of Olympus, and the front has the kanji character that means Tokyo Olympics. It was impressive, and undeniably, people loved it. Anyway, I saw one of his interviews about his knitting hobby, and I learned that he only started knitting during the pandemic. He said that it was really hard. However, he got the hang of it through consistent practice. His first project was a scarf, which he gave to his mom. He also said that knitting was his way of feeling mindful and a way of escaping the pressure of competing. What's more interesting is that he published some of his patterns and sold them on Lovecraft.com to raise money for the brain tumor charity, which I think is commendable, and I don't think many athletes do that.
