I would like to talk about my best friend Simon. I first met Simon back in 2019 on a language exchange platform called HelloTalk. Simon wanted to study Chinese, and at that time, I was eager to improve my English skills, so we became friends. After several video calls for the language exchange, I realized Simon is a very considerate and friendly person. I decided to keep talking to him and treat him as my best friend. Especially during 2020, at the beginning of the COVID outbreak, I found it very challenging to land a job in the IT industry. I completed a six-month coding bootcamp; however, I didn't have a college degree, so I found it very challenging to get a job. When I was about to give up, Simon told me to stick to my dream and even offered to help me with my resume, and he actually did. Finally, I got a job in Guangzhou in June, so I feel very grateful and indebted to Simon because he has been so supportive during my toughest times. He didn't leave me.
