I think one piece of advice that I will always remember is to stop explaining myself. A friend of mine actually said that to me because she noticed that I do that a lot, that I always give excuses. After every sentence said to me, or every accusation, or everything I say, even if I didn't mean anything, I have to explain and say sorry, and clarify what I meant. So she told me to stop that. I realized that if people love you enough, if they cherish you, if they know who you are and understand your words, they won't need an explanation. They will know that you didn't mean something or that you meant something else, and they will understand the true meaning of your words. Putting in a lot of effort for people who might take you for granted is really bad for your energy and your health. We should absolutely know our worth. It was so hard for me to stop explaining myself. It was a long journey, actually. I initially ignored it until I realized that it was true, and I had to stop it. People were taking me for granted, and I'm a giver. I give more than I receive from people, and that's why I needed to stop doing that.

They would know that you didn’t mean that or that you mean something else or that they will understand the true meaning of your words. It was so hard for me to stop explaining myself. It was a long journey actually. I initially ignored it until I realized that it’s real and I have to stop it and people are taking me for granted and I’m a giver. I give more than I receive from people and that’s why I needed to stop doing that.
