I live in a small city called Taspur. There are not many places like zoos or wildlife sanctuaries where people can visit. There is a very famous zoo named Chhattabird Zoo, which is about four hours away from my hometown. It is located in Chandigarh. I visited there with my parents when I was in grade 11. There were so many exotic as well as indigenous wildlife species there. I remember there were many wild animals, which included elephants, lions, tigers, bears, deer, and birds. There was a separate section for reptiles, which included snakes, crocodiles, and turtles. One of the most exciting parts about the zoo was its lion safari. We went there in a caged bus, and we got a chance to admire the king of the animal kingdom up close in his natural habitat. Along with each animal, they also mentioned their conservation status. I was shocked to see that there were so many species that were either endangered or critically endangered. The zoo also had a museum that tells us about the Indian animals that went extinct due to human actions. I remember there were no pigeons, penguins, or polar bears, as the weather in Chandigarh does not suit those species, and it is nearly impossible for them to be there. In the end, I would describe my visit as an extremely fun day that taught me a lot about the ecosystem. Thank you.
