Noise pollution is an inevitable part of our daily life. We have to tolerate it; we can't escape from it. Today I would like to talk about a noisy place I experienced. Last Sunday, there was a religious function in my neighborhood called a Jagran or Jagrata, which ran from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. They played chants and religious songs on loudspeakers and prayed to God. That night, I couldn't sleep because of the loudspeakers. I tried to lock the windows, but it didn't work. I also tried plugging earplugs in my ears, but that didn't work either. I couldn't sleep for the entire night, and I had to go to a meeting the next morning. It was very hectic for me to tolerate that situation. I'm sure there were many other people like me who couldn't sleep that night and had to endure the loudspeakers. I'm not against religious functions, but there should be a strict rule that we don't play loudspeakers after 10:00 p.m. We need to follow this rule because many people can't tolerate loud noises. It's also not good for our mental and physical health. It can cause many diseases like depression, anxiety, sleep problems, etc. We need to take care of this issue. The loudspeakers must be shut down after 10:00 p.m. My uncle was in Canada, and there was a strict rule on the roads there that nobody could honk their car horn unnecessarily. This made traffic flow smoothly. I think we should consider adopting a similar approach here to manage noise pollution.
