Thanks a lot for giving me such a cute card. I am really glad to talk about this topic today. I would like to describe a grocery shop near my home. I sometimes visit this shop with my family. The shop sells different products like milk, bread, sugar, rice, flour, snacks, and fresh vegetables. I buy various items because this shop provides fresh fruits and a wide range of vegetables. The quality is very good, and the supermarket's prices are reasonable and low. I always use this shop because, first of all, it is located near my home and provides all the necessities in my life. The shop is about a five-minute walk from my home. The shop looks like a blue flower because it has blue walls, three workers, and two open doors. It is a very good-looking shop. I hope this shop will help me achieve my goals.

Pronunciation

Your pronunciation is quite good. Working on consistency and tackling difficult sounds may enhance clarity.

Task Response

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, including the types of products, the location, and the reasons for using the shop. However, the development of the ideas is somewhat limited. While specific items are listed, the description of the shop's appearance is quite brief and contains a confusing metaphor regarding the 'blue flower' that lacks clarity. To improve, aim to expand on the descriptions using more descriptive adjectives and provide more depth when explaining the 'why' aspect. Additionally, ensure that the concluding sentence is relevant to the topic; the current closing statement about 'achieving goals' is disconnected from the subject of a grocery shop and does not add value to the response.

Fluency & Coherence

The speaker manages to address all parts of the prompt, but the flow is somewhat mechanical. There is a lack of sophisticated cohesive devices; the sentences are mostly short and follow a repetitive 'Subject + Verb' structure. To improve, try using more complex connectors such as 'Not only does it sell..., but it also...' or 'Due to its proximity to my house, I find it convenient to...' Additionally, the concluding sentence ('I hope this shop will help me achieve my goals') is logically disconnected from the topic, which affects the coherence of the overall response.

Lexical Resource

The vocabulary used is functional but very basic (e.g., 'good', 'different', 'very good looking'). There were some errors in word choice/pronunciation in the raw transcript, such as 'grassy shop' instead of 'grocery shop'. To reach a higher band, you need to use more precise and less common lexical items. Instead of 'different products', use 'a wide array of commodities' or 'essential groceries'. Instead of 'very good quality', use 'high-quality produce' or 'premium goods'. Boost vocabulary complexity to elevate the overall score.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy

The grammar is characterized by simple sentence structures with several errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage (e.g., 'this supermarket prices is' should be 'this supermarket's prices are'). There is also a lack of complex sentence structures (subordinate clauses, relative clauses). To improve, practice using relative clauses to combine ideas, such as: 'The shop, which is located just a five-minute walk from my house, sells a variety of goods.' Focus on mastering singular/plural agreement and possessive forms.
