We were supposed to leave early in the morning, so everyone got up early, but I was still asleep. They got ready, and all the family members, along with our friends, joined in. They all went to a particular place to meet up. Everyone was supposed to get on the bus, but I couldn't wake up. The previous day, I hadn't gone to bed early, so I was exhausted. I didn't know anything about what was happening. Everyone had already left the house by the time I woke up around 6:30 a.m. Someone had been calling me while I was sleeping, and the phone was ringing. I finally woke up and answered the phone. It was my family, and they reminded me about the picnic. I realized I had completely forgotten about it. I was so disappointed that I couldn't join them. I got ready as quickly as I could, but it was too late. I missed the whole thing. It was a real bummer, but I learned my lesson about getting enough sleep before important events.
