It is true that on a regular basis we provide advice to people, and sometimes we need to get advice from people as well. There was a time when I provided advice to my friend. My friend was studying at York University, and it was her last course, which was advanced communication. At that time, she made an individual project for her class, but she just used some synonyms from Google. When she submitted that project, her professor said that she had copied from somewhere, but she insisted that she didn't copy; she just got some advice. Her professor suggested a Google Meet, so she joined the meeting, and her professor told her to open her browser. Then she started checking her laptop and browsing her chat GPT history. The professor deliberately accused my friend of plagiarism. At that time, my friend sought advice from me on what she should do in that situation. I told my friend to contact project management because it was not her fault, and the professor didn't have any right to browse someone's private history. She talked with project management and explained the entire situation. After one week of investigation, it turned out the professor was at fault because there was no plagiarism in my friend's project; she had only used some synonyms. In the end, my friend received full marks and passed her course happily.
