About three or four years ago, I saw this online ad for a two-day camping trip and signed up. But because many of my friends aren't really into that kind of thing, I had to do that with a group of complete strangers, which made me a little nervous, to be honest, because I wasn't really sure if I'd be able to fit in with everybody else. But in the end, it turned out that I shouldn't have worried at all about it. The people were great and very welcoming and supportive. So I enjoyed every bit of that trip. But the worst aspect, I think, was waking up well before sunrise. And I am not an early riser. I basically had to crawl out of bed on that day and was still feeling half asleep. I somehow managed to pack all my things into a small bag and we met at a small hire shop, rented some equipment and hit the road in a small minivan. On our way I kept dozing off but when the van hit a pothole I just woke up and that happened quite a few times which was not exactly pleasant and as we got closer and closer to the mountains the roads got increasingly bumpy so I just had to put up with this all but as soon as we got to the destination I felt this burst of energy maybe because of the breathtaking views or maybe because of the fresh air. And as we were hiking along the trails, I remember putting my feet in the icy river water from time to time, and that also made me feel really refreshed. And altogether it was a lot of fun. Like I said, the company was just great. We shared a lot of laughs together, had a great meal, and this was probably one of the most memorable experiences I've had in a while.
