One time I really needed to use my imagination was during a university presentation. My group had to explain the problems related to electronic waste, also known as e-waste, and provide possible solutions. Unfortunately, one of my friends got sick just a day before the presentation, so we were missing an important part of our project. At first, we were all stressed because we did not have enough time to prepare everything again. Then I decided to use my imagination to make the presentation more creative instead of just reading information from the slides. I came up with the idea of presenting the topic like a real-life story. I imagined a future where electronic waste had become a huge environmental problem and people were suffering from pollution and health issues. During my presentation, I described how old mobile phones, batteries, and computers were damaging the environment if they were not properly recycled. I even used creative examples and compared e-waste to a silent killer because people usually ignored it until it became dangerous. To make it more interesting, I asked my classmates to imagine living in a society full of toxic electronic garbage. Surprisingly, our teacher and classmates enjoyed the presentation because I made it more engaging, and it was different from the usual academic style. It was boring. In the end, we received the highest grade in the class. I think this experience made me realize that imagination is not only for art or entertainment. It is also useful for problem-solving and communicating ideas effectively. Since then, I have tried to think more creatively whenever I faced challenges in my daily life related to studies or any other issues.
