Back in 2025, when I was doing rounds in my ward, I noticed a young mother who was struggling to take care of her newborn baby. Since she was a first-time parent, she looked overwhelmed by the responsibility of caring for her newborn. The baby had been crying constantly, and the mother was worried that something was wrong with her baby. She didn't have easy access to healthcare advice at that moment. She looked very anxious. I sat down with her and calmly explained some basic newborn care techniques, such as proper breastfeeding positions and how to burp the baby after breastfeeding. I also showed her how to cuddle the baby to make the child feel secure. The mother was happy, and she even demonstrated all the things that I had taught her. She was really pleased to note that after all the practice she did with her baby, the baby seemed to be calming down. I felt proud because my small action gave her confidence and reduced her anxiety. She told me later that the baby was calmer and that she felt more capable as a mother. Knowing that I had contributed to her peace of mind and the baby's comfort made me feel genuinely proud of myself. So that's the moment I offered a hand to a stranger, and it really made me proud in the end.
