Last year, I stumbled upon a truly captivating and eye-opening documentary about the lives of people in North Korea. It focused on the country's leadership under Kim Jong-un, and the communist system of government that governs their lives. This system severely restricts individual freedoms, meaning people are not allowed to do whatever they want. I decided to watch the documentary because I've been teaching South Korean students for over a decade, and I've heard countless stories about North Korea. I was deeply curious to learn more about the realities of life for ordinary North Koreans. The documentary revealed a stark truth: people in North Korea are denied basic freedoms due to the communist regime. I found myself moved to tears as I witnessed the heartbreaking stories of families being separated, their desperate attempts to escape their country in search of freedom. Some families were torn apart, with members fleeing across the border, seeking refuge in neighboring cities, provinces, or even other countries. Sadly, many lost their lives during their escape attempts, either at the border or before they could reach it. This documentary was particularly impactful because it made me realize that while people in many parts of the world enjoy a high degree of freedom, there are still places where individuals are oppressed and denied basic human rights. It was a stark reminder of the vast disparities that exist in our world.

Last year, I happened to watch a very engaging and astonishing documentary about the life of people in North Korea. So they were ruled by the leader named King Jong un. And then the system of government in North Korea is communism. So it means that the people don’t have, uh, freedom to do everything that they. Anything that they wanted. So I decided to watch the documentary because I have been teaching south korean students for more than ten years now, and I heard a lot about, um, North Korea. But then I really wanted to know more whether, what are the realities of, um, living in North Korea as north korean people? So what I learned during the documentary is that people really don’t have this freedom to do whatever they wanted because of, um, the communist leader. So I actually, I cried while watching the documentary because people, um, families were being separated. They even wanted to escape from their country to obtain freedom. So some of them separated from their family, and then they tried to escape from the border. They went to different places, the near by cities and provinces or country. Yeah, but some people died in the border or before they reached the border. So the tv documentary was particularly interesting, um, because it made me realize that in other parts of the world, while people are experiencing too much freedom in their country, however, there is one place in the world that people are feeling oppressed and don’t have any freedom at all. Ok?
