I have a very strict literature teacher at my school. In order to have a mark higher than 2 which kind of equals to failing, you need to read everything she assigned to you during her classes. It is quite difficult because I have a lot of outside of school commitments. Also I study at Physics and Math LUSIM which means that I get tons of homework in these two subjects that I also need to do because they are my priority. I’m going to major in these subjects and I believe that it might be better to focus on them. At the same time I need to maintain my high GPA in order to get into any good university after graduation. As a result, I decided to find a way to have some time for reading. Since I read quite fast, I decided to do all necessary homework or my core subjects at home and then on my way to school while I’m in the subway I read through the books she assigned to us. It’s quite easy to skim through the text and grasp the general plot and some ideas, so usually it works quite good, especially on shorter stories. It is quite difficult for me, because in the subway it’s always noisy, there are a lot of people. Also I ride there in the big hours so I usually don’t have a place to sit. As a result I have to read while standing which is quite dangerous and also uncomfortable. but I feel very positive about this change because now I can keep up with the academic workload and maintain my GPA which I think is worth it.
