The important plant in China I would like to talk about is sugarcane. This plant is very ubiquitous and you can see it everywhere in the countryside of China, especially in the south. I live in Guangdong province and this plant is everywhere. If you see a farmland, you can see it. You can see a lot of it in this place. I remember when I was young, the farmland in front of my grandparents' house had a few sugarcane plants. I would often chew on them, extracting the juice from the sugarcane. Sugarcane is usually greenish, very long and thin with many joints. It's about two to five meters long. It's a very important plant in China because it's the main ingredient for sugar production. Sugar is very important. It's also a main ingredient for many other foods like cakes and Coca-Cola. It's a staple for Chinese people. I think it's very important. I think we cannot live without this plant all around the world. Thank you.
