In some ways, I'd like to tell you about my experience of learning baking. It was around early 2020 when the lockdown started. I suddenly had a lot of time on my hands, so I decided to learn baking. At first, I thought it was quite easy, but it was a real eye-opener. I found all the steps in the recipes, but somehow, my first few attempts turned out terrible. They were either uncooked or as hard as stones. Back then, I was used to being a high achiever, so every failure was the lightest light in my face. Also, each failed attempt was the lightest sign that I was not good enough. After several days, I started learning to adjust my mindset. I really wanted to watch some videos on YouTube and even joined the baking groups. People there were open to discussing their mistakes, and they made me realize that failures were just a part of learning. Overall, I have learned a lot from this experience. As they say, Rome was not built in a day. Failures are as valuable as successes because they teach us how to face frustrations. I strongly believe this experience can be applied to many things, like interviewing or even dealing with conflicts within families. This experience truly made me realize that I should focus more on the process rather than just the final result.
