I watch quite a lot of videos because I teach, and I use videos as a very common tool for generating discussions. For whatever topic we take, I try to find a video. There are so many good videos right now with different lengths and varieties that you could use to brainstorm different ideas. Of course, I also use the internet or scroll through my hidden TikTok or Instagram. I often use TED as a resource for my videos. Recently, my student and I watched a video about art, and it was talking about who decides what art is and how to interpret art. Mostly, we think that the artist is ultimately responsible for the ideas behind their work. Not only artists, but also movie directors and other representatives of the field. However, when it comes to paintings, we quite rarely have a chance to ask the person who created the piece of art what exactly was implied by certain elements. In real situations, the person looking at the art, examining it, is the one who interprets it through their lens. So, the right to interpret lies with either the artist or the audience, the spectators. In my opinion...
