Band 6+: Describe an item on which you spent more than expected.

An item that I spent more money on than expected would be my e-ink tablet, which is basically a tablet that uses more natural lighting and coloring that replicates what we see in everyday life rather than the blue light that we see on tablets, and it's better for your eyes. It's not really a tablet; you can't see videos or a lot of high-resolution images, but you can draw, you can read, you can make notes. Well, for me, it was specifically to make notes in class and to write down ideas. So I bought this with my own money, and I had worked in a restaurant for about two months in Israel. I had earned about 2000 shekels, which is about 25 rupees. 2000 shekels would become around 50,000 rupees. This was costlier because it was supposed to be better for health, and if the technology was more advanced, it was using some cones that would shape and give a more natural feel, and it was way more than what an average tablet would cost, which would be maybe around 3000-4000. And the devastating part about this was after about a month of using it, it actually spoiled, and even though it was under warranty and should have been fixed, the company would not fix it, and they wanted us to pay an extra huge sum to get it fixed. So instead of actually getting it fixed, my dad just bought me a cheaper tablet, which was honestly way more effective. I could do more like watch videos, I could see Google, I could search up answers for questions, and the e-ink tablet was really slow, it would lag a lot, and the color pixels would sometimes not properly come on the screen. So all in all, I think it was a better idea to have just gone for a cheaper tablet as opposed to this expensive tablet that did not end up working out well.
