However, I have heard stories about him and these stories gave me the impression that he was a respected community leader. According to the stories, he was one of the most skilled fishermen in the region. Apparently, he was also a wealthy individual. He used to provide employment for the natives on his fishing boats. He held a respectable position in the society and was the first individual who established a concrete house in our region, which was a remarkable achievement. I would have loved to spend some time with him. However, fate did not allow me that courtesy. There is this one particular picture of him that had survived and that picture is currently placed in a respectable position in our household to honour his legacy as it is customary to honour our ancestors’ legacy in our tradition and our family and heir to that tradition. As his grandson, I do feel pride in the fact that he was a respectable and well-reordered individual and I hope I could live up to his legacy. I could continue honouring the family name like he did.
