I would like to talk about a time I learned something new from an online video. It was back in 2018. I was determined to learn how to pronounce the Spanish 'r' sound, but after nearly a week of trying, I still couldn't manage it. I think it's because my native language doesn't have an equivalent sound. I felt very disappointed and discouraged. Then I turned to YouTube and stumbled upon a tutorial video by a Singaporean linguist. This guy is very talented at teaching foreign languages. He likens the 'r' sound in Spanish to the playful sound we use when talking to small children. He demonstrated the exact position of the tongue with his hands and showed us how to exhale to make our tongue vibrate correctly. After trying his method for a few hours, I finally managed to produce the sound and could even pronounce the most difficult, complicated Spanish words. I felt very happy and indebted to have found this video because without it, I might never have been able to pronounce this sound.
