Yes, India is a democratic country. It has diverse laws to follow. There are many laws that I find really important. One of them is the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972. The objective of this law is to protect the wildlife of this country effectively and to control poaching and smuggling. The aim of this law is to provide protection to the listed endangered flora and fauna in ecologically important protected areas. I learned about this law some years back when the famous actor Salman Khan was in the news for blackbuck poaching. Being a nutritionist and animal lover, I believe this law is very important, primarily because the need to save the environment is crucial. If people do not understand the importance of protecting plants and animals, the ecosystem will be disrupted. This will lead to disastrous consequences. This important issue can be addressed only by enforcing such laws.
