Reflecting on time when I organised a plan with a large group of people takes me back to COVID-19 pandemic the period. During that challenging time, my entire residential community and I decided to organise a volunteer drive to sport underprivileged family. In nearby area if I recall correctly this initiative was planned in mid 2021. We held a small meeting in our community park, highly maintaining social distances protocols. The core idea was to provide essential supplies such as groceries, sanitizers and basic medicine. To those struggling to make ends meet, to make a long story short around 50 members agreed to join the effort as I have always been regarded as a responsible and forward thinking person. Consequently I was chosen as the team leader. Initially I found the challenge downing as managing such a large group was no easy task. However I did not let the task discourage me. I quickly formed smaller sub teams and I delegated tasks with the assistance of a few senior residents step by step. We collected donations from nearby society and used the funds to purchase necessities like rice, lentils, cooking oil, face masks and sanitizers. Once we gathered all the items we divided them into equal packages and distributed them in various areas over the course of two weeks. Fortunately the entire plan went off without a hitch. It was heartwarming to witness everyone contribute wholeheartedly and selflessly without any complaints about tiredness or workload. We all worked together like a well-oiled machine. Overall this experience was not only fulfilling but also eye-opening. It helped me develop essential life skills such as team work, communication and leadership. The initiative was a memorable and meaningful endeavor that left a lasting impact on both my community and myself.
