There are a lot of festivals celebrated by Nepalese people like Dasing, Tihar and Makarsakandhi. But today I would like to talk about a major festival of Hindus or Nepalese people is Dasing. With the celebrations which celebrated in the month of September and October, it lasts for 10 days starting from first day to 9 days. The main theme is worshipping the Goddess Durga and last day is for the victory of the Goddess Durga. This is one of the major festivals of Hindus and it is used to celebrate the victory of Goddess Durga over the different evils or demons like Mysashul. The first day of Dasing is Gattastapna in which a small fort is put in a separate space filled with holy water and some seeds that seeds are turned into jungra which can be taken in next 10 days put on the forehead of people. The festival theme is to celebrate the victory of Goddess Durga over the demons. From first day to 9 days people usually go to temples and pray for good will wins as well as offer various kinds of support from the Gods. The last day of Dasing is for the busy dasi which means people took tikka on their forehead especially red tikka with jamara which was kept on first day and holy water with a separate fort. The tikka is taken by our ancestors as well as our seniors especially relatives. After we tried to go other relatives home to put tikka on our forehead and then after we had done a lot of celebration like in doing and dancing. Also one of the major events of Dasing is the festival.
