I think they do because it's easier to open a website and read the news you like than to turn on your TV and search for it. You can't search for specific information on TV; you have to wait for it or maybe see it by chance. While on the World Wide Web, you have the search feature where you can type in anything you want and get plenty of information on it. So I think this is why people like to search for information on the internet.
