Band 7+: Do you have much free time

Your pronunciation is quite good. Working on consistency and tackling difficult sounds may enhance clarity.

The answer directly addresses the question and provides a clear reason for having limited free time. It is natural and appropriately elaborated, explaining the context of being a final-year high school student. To enhance the response, you could briefly mention what you do with the little free time you have, or how you manage your schedule, which would add more depth and demonstrate a fuller range of vocabulary and grammatical structures.

The answer is coherent and directly addresses the question. The response flows naturally with a clear reason provided. However, it is quite brief and lacks elaboration or a follow-up detail, which would enhance the coherence and demonstrate fuller development. To improve, consider adding a sentence about how you manage your time or what you do in the little free time you have.

The vocabulary used is appropriate and precise for the context (e.g., 'pressure', 'preparing to get into university'). However, the range is limited, and there is no use of idiomatic language or more sophisticated expressions. To achieve a higher score, incorporate more varied vocabulary, such as 'academic demands', 'overwhelmed', or 'juggling responsibilities'.

The grammar is accurate with correct use of present tense and a subordinate clause. The sentence structure is simple but effective. To reach a band 9, you could demonstrate a wider range of structures, such as using a conditional or a more complex sentence, e.g., 'If I had more free time, I would...' or 'Despite the heavy workload, I try to...'.
