Band 5+: Do you prefer to read physical books or e-books?

Your pronunciation is average. It is understandable but not always accurate. Focusing on the rhythm and stress patterns of English could prove beneficial.

The answer stays on topic and directly addresses the question by stating a preference for physical books and providing a reason related to screen health. However, the response is somewhat repetitive and lacks natural flow. The phrase 'standoff ebooks' is unclear, and the explanation could be more concise and coherent. To improve, consider structuring the answer with a clear main point, a brief comparison, and a well-supported reason. For example, you could say: 'I definitely prefer physical books because they give me a break from screens, which is better for my eyes and overall well-being. E-books are convenient, but I find that reading on a device for a long time strains my eyes, whereas with a physical book, I can relax and focus better.' This would make the answer more natural and polished.

The answer is understandable but lacks clear organization and cohesive devices. There is some repetition ('many students or many people') and self-correction ('screen or screen'). To improve, structure your answer with a clear introduction, reasons, and a conclusion. Use linking words like 'because', 'therefore', and 'for example' to connect ideas more smoothly.

The vocabulary is basic and sometimes imprecise (e.g., 'standoff ebooks' instead of 'compared to ebooks', 'physical bone soup' instead of 'physical books'). There is some attempt to use topic-related words like 'soft copy', 'hard copy', and 'mental health', but the range is limited. To improve, learn and use more precise and varied vocabulary, such as 'portable', 'eye strain', 'digital format', and 'tactile experience'.

There are several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement ('ebooks is' should be 'ebooks are'), incorrect verb forms ('they effect' should be 'they affect'), and missing articles/prepositions. The sentence structure is mostly simple and repetitive. To improve, practice using a variety of sentence structures (e.g., complex sentences with 'although', 'since', 'whereas') and review basic grammar rules for subject-verb agreement and word forms.
