For me, I think it depends on our age. For younger generation, I think it's better for them to rent a place to live in because for younger people, they may not have high salary so it may not be affordable for them to buy a place to live in. Besides, their job may not be stable, that means they may change their job frequently. So renting offers flexibility for them. And besides, usually younger people enjoy freedom, so renting allows them to change their living environment according to their needs and wills. However, for middle-aged people or older people, I strongly think that it will be better for them to buy a place to live in. First of all, purchasing a flat may be a stable investment for them. Secondly, many house owners may not want to rent a flat to the elderly as they may be afraid that those people may pass away in their apartment, especially for the Chinese, we believe in feng shui. So for older people, I think it's better for them to buy a place to live in.
