Polished transcript:

Male Female

I use public transportation quite frequently because I live in a city where most things cannot be reached by foot, and therefore taking the bus or the subway is part of my daily life. I also only recently acquired my driver's license and I'm not familiar with driving in the city, so I don't do that often. I also don't have my own car, so I would have to use my parents' car. Therefore, public transportation is an important part of my life.

Pronunciation

Your pronunciation is quite good. Working on consistency and tackling difficult sounds may enhance clarity.

Task Response

The answer is well-developed and directly addresses the question. It provides a clear frequency ('quite frequently') and supports it with relevant reasons, such as the city's layout, lack of a car, and unfamiliarity with driving. The response is natural and elaborated, demonstrating a willingness to expand beyond a simple answer. To achieve a higher score, consider adding a specific example or a brief comparison to make the response even more vivid and engaging.

Fluency & Coherence

The answer is well-organized and coherent, with a clear progression of ideas. The speaker uses cohesive devices like 'because', 'therefore', and 'so' effectively. There is a minor self-correction ('cannot be reached by foot' -> 'cannot be reached by foot') and a slight repetition of 'I also', but overall the response flows naturally. To achieve a 9, aim for even smoother transitions and avoid any unnecessary repetition.

Lexical Resource

The vocabulary is precise and appropriate for the topic, with good use of expressions like 'part of my daily life', 'acquired my driver's license', and 'familiar with driving'. The range is adequate, but to reach a 9, consider incorporating more varied and less common vocabulary, such as 'rely on', 'commute', or 'public transit system'.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy

The grammar is largely accurate, with correct use of complex structures like 'where most things cannot be reached by foot' and 'I would have to use'. There is a minor error: 'the public transportation' should be 'public transportation' (without 'the'). Also, 'the car of my parents' is awkward; 'my parents' car' is more natural. These are minor issues, but for a 9, ensure flawless accuracy and more natural phrasing.
